Dr. R. Vijayalakshmi is a distinguished academician, researcher, author, and academic administrator with over 19 years of experience in higher education. She currently serves as Professor of English and Dean In-charge, School of Languages, at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. She holds a Ph.D. in English from Bharathidasan University and has developed expertise in English Language Teaching (ELT), English Literature, Applied Linguistics, Artificial Intelligence in ELT (AI-ELT), Curriculum Design, Outcome-Based Education, Technical Communication, Academic Writing, Educational Technology, and Digital Pedagogy. Throughout her career, Dr. Vijayalakshmi has held several academic leadership positions, including Head of the Department, Students' Affairs In-charge, Foreign Language Coordinator, and Dean In-charge. Her contributions encompass academic planning, curriculum development, quality assurance, faculty development, institutional governance, and strategic academic initiatives. She is also a recognized Research Supervisor at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University and Mother Teresa Women's University, guiding doctoral research in English and allied disciplines. A prolific author and researcher, she has written ten books on English language teaching, communication, grammar, and artificial intelligence, and has served as editor and co-editor of scholarly publications. Her research output includes more than 30 research papers in national and international journals, several indexed in Scopus, 48 book chapters, and 30 presentations at national and international conferences. Her research interests include AI in ELT, Educational Technology, Digital Learning, Applied Linguistics, Language Assessment, Communication Skills, Gender Studies, Environmental Literature, and Outcome-Based Education. An interdisciplinary researcher and innovator, Dr. Vijayalakshmi holds six published Indian patents in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IoT, Network Security, Business Communication, and Smart Agricultural Technologies. She has served as a resource person, journal reviewer, editor, conference organizer, and trainer for numerous Faculty Development Programmes, workshops, seminars, and academic initiatives, and has participated in more than 100 professional development programmes. Her contributions to education and research have been recognized with 17 national and international awards, including the Best Academician Award, Global Woman Icon Award, Academic Excellence Award, Best Book Publication Award, Pillars of India Award, and Best Academician and Research Supervisor Award.
