Dr. V. L. Jayapaul is an accomplished academician, researcher, teacher, mentor, and author with over 24 years of experience in English Language Teaching and higher education. He serves as an Associate Professor in the PG and Research Department of English at St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli. He holds a Ph.D. in English Language Teaching, along with an MBA in Human Resource Management, M.Phil. and M.A. in English, and B.Ed. in English. His academic interests include English Language Teaching, second-language acquisition, flipped learning, ICT-integrated pedagogy, communication skills, and innovative learner-centred teaching practices. Over the course of his distinguished career, Dr. Jayapaul has taught at undergraduate, postgraduate, and research levels and has held several academic and administrative responsibilities, including serving as Head of the PG and Research Department of English from 2020 to 2025. He is also an active research supervisor, having guided doctoral and M.Phil. scholars and contributed to doctoral committees and academic bodies. A committed scholar and writer, he has published books and numerous research articles in peer-reviewed and indexed journals. His work explores diverse areas of language teaching, technology-enabled learning, communication, literature, and contemporary cultural studies. Dr. Jayapaul is also an active resource person, invited speaker, trainer, and academic contributor, having addressed students, teachers, and scholars through lectures, workshops, conferences, and faculty development programmes. His contribution to teaching and academic service was recognised with the Best Teacher Award for the academic year 2023–2024. Through his teaching, research, mentorship, and publications, Dr. V. L. Jayapaul continues to make a meaningful contribution to English Language Teaching, higher education, and the academic development of students and scholars.
