Coal India shares adjust for its ₹10.25 dividend
When a company pays a dividend, its share price normally drops by about the dividend amount on the ex-date, because new buyers no longer receive it. Coal India's ex-date for its ₹10.25 second interim dividend was 4 November, and the shares fell 2.05%, mostly reflecting that payout. Separately, the company produced a record 67.2 million tonnes of coal in October, up 19% from a year earlier.
