Dr Reddy's rises 2% on HIV-prevention drug approval; Sun Pharma clarifies plant report
Dr Reddy's received tentative US FDA approval for a generic version of lenacapavir, a twice-yearly injection used to prevent HIV, intended for supply to about 120 low- and middle-income countries. Its shares rose 1.96% to ₹1,368.30. BSE asked the company to clarify a media report on the approval. Sun Pharma told exchanges that reports of an order to halt eye-drug production at its Assam plant relate to August events; it says it paused production voluntarily and has filed a compliance report. Its shares were almost flat.

Tends to gain
Dr Reddy's
Tends to lose
None directly
If it reverses
Tentative approval does not allow US sales because of patents, so near-term revenue depends on export programmes.
